Stars and Stripes! Aprilia RS 660 Limited Edition 2022
Motoamerica RS 660 limited to 1500 pieces
After the success of the RS 660 in the Motoamerica racing series, Aprilia is launching its own limited edition in honor of the victory in the 2021 Twins Cup. Stars and stripes adorn the case to match the USA.
One year after its market launch, the Aprilia RS 660 is already celebrating its first important sporting milestone. The midsize Italian sports motorcycle achieved this success in the United States, dominating the 2021 edition of the Twins Cup, the prestigious American championship for two-cylinder, mid-displacement in MotoAmerica, the premier motorcycle motorcycle racing series in the United States. To celebrate this victory, Aprilia is presenting a 1500 RS 660 series at EICMA 2021. The color scheme not only draws its inspiration from the American flag, it is also based on the graphics of the motorcycle that Twins Cup Champion Kaleb De Keyrel rode on the final lap of the Aprilia RS 660 Trophy at Vallelunga.
Stars and Stripes! – Equipment of the Aprilia RS 660 Limited Edition 2022
But the Aprilia RS 660 Limited Edition doesn’t just show off with its special design. Equipment features from the competition RS 660 also find their way into the special model. For example, the software for individual setting of the transmission is on board. The quickshifter can be used to reverse the switching pattern for track days, so that you can also switch the other way around like the pros, without having to convert any components. The RS 660 Limited Edition comes as standard with a racing cover instead of the pillion seat. The pillion seat is included and can be easily fitted if necessary.
The successful series of the Aprilia RS 660 in the Moto America Twins Cup 2021
Just a few months after its debut in the USA on one of the most famous American racetracks in the world, the Big Sur Circuit in California – driven by the Pikes Peak record holder on an Aprilia Tuono V4, Rennie Scaysbrook – the Aprilia RS 660 was the direct protagonist of an exciting sporting story . Just in time for the start of the Twins Cup 2021, the Italian two-cylinder was registered and scored a triple victory in the very first race on the Road Atlanta circuit. It was a brilliant start, which came unexpectedly in a certain way, followed by a streak of victories: 10 overall victories from 13 races, plus 16 further podiums (9 second and 7 third places) and 6 pole positions. Five of the total of 10 victories went to Kaleb De Keyrel, the 2021 Twins Cup champion on his Aprilia RS 660 prepared by Team Robem Engineering. The other victories were Jody Barry, Cory Ventura, Anthony Mazziotto (two wins) and Tommaso Marcon retracted. The Aprilia RS 660 thus confirmed its status as a competitive mid-range supersport motorcycle.
